Congratulations to the Holly Powerlifting Team...Back-to-back-to-back regional titles...yep, a three-peat! Way to go! Good luck to William Moller, Taylor Mills, Scott Scanlon, David Tremblay, Alec Miller, Greg Hooper, Andrew Giles, Aaron Suttles, Josh Sayles, and Cody Dombecke who all qualified for the State Meet!  

Football - Allan Strode...On Friday, Oct. 14th during the homecoming game vs. Waverly, Allan had 15 tackles...2 sacks and 2 additional tackles for a loss.  He broke the record of 18 sacks per career set by Paul McNeely in 2005.  Allan now has 19 sacks and at least two more games this year.  He has been a key contributor to an outstanding defensive unit this season.  Congratulations Allan!

Please plan ahead.  Athletes...it is recommended that you schedule your ACT testing date at a time when it will not conflict with one of your athletic events.  Below are the ACT test dates and MHSAA tournament conflicts:

September 10 ... no conflict with MHSAA events
October 22 ... conflicts with MHSAA soccer districts
December 10 ... no conflict with MHSAA events
February 11 ... conflicts with MHSAA individual wrestling districts
April 14 ... no conflicts with MHSAA events
June 9th ... conflicts with MHSAA baseball, softball, golf and soccer regional tournaments

Junior Alexandra Jonson is the first girl in the three year history of Holly Girls' Golf to qualify for the MHSAA State Finals and only the second golfer, boy or girl, ever.  Alex shot a 90 at Heather Highlands on October 6th and will be playing in the state finals at Oakland University on Oct. 14 and 15th.  We are proud of you Alex!  Great job and good luck!  Also, congrats to Coach Hyslop and Coach Wilson!

The varsity boys tennis team defeated the other 7 opponents in the FML tennis tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 27th.  During regular season dual meet play, they tied Brandon HS with a record of 6-0-1.
1st place regular season play + 1 place tournament play = FML title...19 consecutive for our boys team.  Congratulations Guys!  Athletes earning league honors include:
Jeff Sophiea - 1st singles - 2nd team FML
Sam Caldwell - 2nd singles - League champion and 1st team FML 
Taylor Mills and Zac Goodrich - 2nd doubles - League champions and 1st team FML

Friday, Sept. 16th was an exciting night at the Broncho Football Stadium.  With 25 seconds left on the clock, and the score 15-16, the Bronchos got the football and one last attempt to win the game.  They marched down the field and with only 7 seconds on the clock and 3rd and 10, Blake Ordiway kicked a 29 yard field goal.  The traveling trophy remains in Holly for yet another year!  Jimmy Duncan and Blake Ordiway were named the Holly Player's of the Game.
